- I. Minimum Needs:
- A. Photocopies of legal documents (visa, passport, any others) in your luggage, separately from your actual documents. (Also, suggested to leave copies with someone in the US that you trust, and will be able to contact in the case of an emergency).
- B. Sheet (regular or folded in half and sewn on two sides like a sleeping sac)
- C. Travel Blanket (doubles as a pillow when hot or blanket when cold)
- D. 1 Can Permethrin Spray (can be found cheaply in "lice bedding spray" or other similar pesticide containers)
- E. Travel towel
- F. 2-3 sets of clothes
- G. alarm clock
- H. flash light (recommend wind up flash light)
- I. "money belt" (for money)
- J. "hidden pocket" (for documents)
- K. one volume Christian prayer (preferred, or shorter Christian prayer. Preferred company: Catholic Book Publishing Corp.)
- L. Emergency Meds/Maintenance Meds
- M. Malaria Meds
- N. Journal
- O. ATM card (Visa preferred, MC okay... other... extremely risky)
- P. Starter cash (~$50 or less)
